Anne Harvey-Nagl


Anne Harvey-Nagl was born in Melbourne,Australia,and studied violin with Brian Blake,Nelli Shkolnikova and Spiros Rantos.
In 1986 she was the winner of the National Youth Concerto Competition,and in 1990 ,after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Music with Distinction,the recipient of the ANZ International Fellowship.This award enabled her to continue violin studies in Vienna,Austria with Prof.Guenter Picher of the Alban Berg Quartet.

Here,Anne became a member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra,Concertmaster and regular soloist of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra,and performs extensively with ensembles and orchestras including Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Klangforum Wien and Reconsil Ensemble She is concertmaster of the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra,Philharmonia Wien and the Symphony Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper.
She also performs as a guest with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart,Royal Flemish Philharmonic and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
From 1999 until 2011 Anne was Principal 1st violin at the Vienna Volksoper,and was recently appointed the position as concertmaster of this orchestra.
Solo appearances include Vienna Chamber Orchestra,Vienna Mozart Orchestra,Symphony Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper and Arad Philharmonic, Rumania.
Anne has been a member of the Koehne Quartet since 1992,specialising in contemporary repertoire,which performs throughout Europe,Asia and the Middle east.
